Employment
I’m currently an Embedded Software Engineer at Engie. I’m part of a team developing a new embedded Linux device for grid flexibility services across the UK and EU. On an typical day I’ll be writing device firmware (primarily in Rust, but sometimes in C and Python), updating our custom Yocto-based Linux distribution, and helping with project management.
Before joining Engie, I was:
- A Control Systems Engineer and R&D Team Lead at Octopus Energy.
- A Research Assistant at the University of Liverpool.
Education
- PhD in Control Engineering, University of Liverpool
- BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering - Class I, University of Liverpool
